Hi, I'm getting a piano pretty soon, and want to take lessons again after an absence of 35 years. (I took piano from ages 10-13, and still play a little; well, just with my right hand :-) .) Teachers in Fairview area preferred, as I live about 9 miles from I-40, but I am willing to come to your house/studio in the Asheville area for lessons, rather than you driving here. I have a pretty erratic but flexible schedule. I'm interested in learning music theory as well as technique, as my first teacher did not stress learning chords/keys/etc (but that may have been because of my age). I'm not sure that I want to do voice and piano at the same time, but I am considering it, so if you just teach one of those, feel free to contact me anyway.
Just a bit of background; I did not start singing until I was 36 years old (during a college course), and I took voice lessons privately from that teacher for a couple of years, but have not done much since (I'm 47 now). Looking for someone with experience in teaching adults; a degree in music pedagogy is nice, but not necessary. Just email me with your particulars, like location, contact info/websites/etc, and rates. Thanks for reading! :-)
Jay
P.S. And if you have any questions for me, please ask!
