<![CDATA[Elsewhere, a 501(c)3 non-profit collaborative art production space and experimental museum in downtown Greensboro, NC, is seeking interns for its Spring, Summer, and Fall 2009 seasons. Set within a three-story former thrift store housing an immense 58-year collection of American cultural objects, Elsewhere explores the collaborative interplay between creative producers, practices, and productions. Elsewhere’s residency program hosts over 30 international artists-in-residence who create site-specific works across arts media utilizing Elsewhere’s immense resources. All works remain on-site and become part of the fluctuating museum environment. Projects include film, installation, performance, fabric-works, carpentry and computer-based projects. <br> <br> Interns apply their creative talents and skills assisting Elsewhere's staff with the operations and expansion of the non-profit museum and visiting artists with the on-site creation of new works. Interns have the unique opportunity to cultivate their organizational and creative capacities while learning new skills from a diverse group of professional artists and creators. Students with backgrounds in the humanities and arts-related disciplines are encouraged to apply. Elsewhere's diverse space enables interns at both high school and college level to participate, matching their creative skills with Elsewhere's needs. Interns have the opportunity to form creative networks in Greensboro and across the globe. <br> <br> Interns must be extremely self-motivated, detailed, articulate, thoughtful, creative, have a sense of humor, enjoy working within a community, be capable of fusing intellectual and artistic interests, and be prepared to multi-task. Artist James Daniel needs portrait models for drawing and painting. Submit an photo (head photo) of yourself that you think best represents how you look, or, if you don't have any access digital cameras and computers, make an appointment to visit the studio. James is somewhat specific in what he is looking for so you after your submit your image you will be contacted, or, you will not be contacted. The pay is $7.50/hr. and James usually requires 10-25 hours to finish a work. Of course, not all in one day. Generally, models pose only for 1-2 hours per day.
